Care workers paid through CarePay, the online payment system of Careseekers Pty Ltd
(“Careseekers”), are covered under a Public Liability Policy. The policy has a sum insured
limit of up to $20 million any one claim and is subject to certain exclusions as detailed in
the policy wording.
Working closely with the Insurer the policy provides insurance to all care workers paid
through CarePay, the online payment system of Careseekers Pty Ltd (“Careseekers”).
The aim of this insurance is to provide peace of mind to care workers as they work. In the
unlikely event that something goes wrong, the policy provides care workers with insurance
cover for their legal liability to third parties for party property damage caused by care
workers and/or for personal injury claims brought against them whilst they are performing a
caring role being paid for through CarePay.
The care worker will be insured up to $20,000,000 for public liability claims (any one
occurrence) and $20,000,000 (any one occurrence and in the aggregate during the Policy
Period) for products liability claims. The care worker must pay an excess when the insurance
claim relates to bodily injury and/or third party property damage.
Full details of the insurance policy, including coverage, exclusions and relevant applicable
excess details are available upon request.
Careseekers is about caring, therefore our insurance policy extends to tasks specifically
relevant to working as a care worker. See below for a full list of these tasks and please
especially note the few tasks specifically excluded from this extension. We don’t expect
care workers will be doing these tasks in most caring roles. You can find these tasks below
in a separate list.
